Light in a State of Emergency

Help us bring light to those suffering the effects of climate change

Elephant Energy (EE) began with a simple idea, to bring light to the people of Namibia. Eleven years later it is no longer an idea. EE has brought light to more than 120,000 individuals. Throughout this journey EE has transformed time and time again to best meet the needs of the people that it serves.

When unemployment was near 30% Elephant Energy brought employment through the introduction of sales agents.

When students were unable to study at night, setting back their educational possibilities, Elephant Energy introduced light libraries.

When a declining economy meant that customers could not afford the up-front cost of products, Elephant Energy created and utilized technologies that would allow them to pay over time.

Every challenge led Elephant Energy to innovate, and ultimately better serve the people of Namibia.

Today we are facing another challenge.

Namibia is in a state of emergency. The most significant drought since 1945 has left 1 in 5 Namibians without access to enough food. EE is providing opportunities to generate income that enables individuals to buy food for their families while providing light to those affected by the drought, but it is harder than ever.

Once again, we will transform to become the organization that the people of Namibia need. We are asking you to join us. To commit to bring light to a country gripped by drought. To change lives. To help us innovate so we can continue the work

We are aiming to raise $30,000 by the end of the month. $30,000 that will:
• Allow us to innovate our model of sales
• Generate income at a time when it is badly needed
• Transfer leadership into the hands of our Namibian staff
• Purchase solar products that light up rural communities
